Although Ullastret is known for the large Iberian settlement of Puig de Sant Andreu, this municipality of Baix Empordà has many other interesting proposals. You do not have to leave the town to find the first one: its fortified old core. Zigzag through its narrow streets, protected by the walls, and you will feel the medieval spirit of the population. Outside of its walls is the second proposal: the market, a gothic square covered where you can take the fresco. The third is for your palate: the recuit de drap (‘ricotta cheese’), a very creamy handmade cheese.
